First half of the semester
The biggest challenge for me in the first half of this semester was getting use to using a blog and doing my classes online, seeing as this is the first online class I have taken and the first blog I have ever used. I would consider the fact that I have not given up yet this semester has my biggest success. Usually with new things, if I find them difficult, I just give up. The readings in this class so far have gotten me to think. Especially the Jonathan Swift essay, mainly because I really enjoy satire. Literary analysis has been another struggle for me in this class. In all my previous classes I have mainly just had to write argumentative essays. I find that I much prefer argumentative essays over literary analysis. My goal for the second half of the semester is to complete all the assignments and to do better than I did in the first half.

I enjoy satire too. It's so much easier to work with material that you enjoy the nature of than otherwise. It becomes fun instead of meticulous. I hope for this reason that you enjoy White Noise. Hopefully the second half of the semester is less difficult for you so that you can meet your goal.

ReplyDeleteI will be honest I wasn't too familiar with satire before this class. I watched satirical movies but I never analyzed them. English 102 opened my eyes, and taught me to look beyond the surface to find it's meaning. I enjoy argumentative essays as well, It is fun to debate your opinion. I'm glad you didn't give up. We are halfway done, and I hope the hard part is behind us.

Sam, I as well had a difficult time setting up my blog and just getting used to it. It was something new for me. As for Literary analysis i agree its more tough and takes more time makes me feel dumb sometimes. But overall I know if we put effort we will succed in this course.
ReplyDeleteWow I would say for a first time online class, as well as blogger that is a sucess. Alot of people struggle with navigating just the portal and having to go back and fourth between the two is difficult at first. I am a first time blogger but have taken many online classes so it was easier! good job with it!
